Sopot is a fashionable seaside resort with spa town status. It is worth to start exploration from visiting famous Sopot pier, which is the longest wooden construction of this type in the whole Europe (its length is 511.50 meters). From this spot you will have a panoramic view of the coast, starting from Kępa Redłowska in Gdynia up to the Jelitkowo, Brzeźno and Port P ó łnocny in Gdańsk. On the way back, it is worth to stop at the nearby Balneology Plant, which offers healthy saline baths and inhalations, and while being there visit a lighthouse - situated close and truly architectonic original. Next suggestion is a walk through the Zdrojowy Square, and later on all along "Monciak" (Heroes Monte Cassino Street) up to the promenade with its well-known "Parasolnik" sculpture, visiting city's most interesting objects on the way. Absolutely must-see: "Krzywy Domek" (Crooked House with its irregular form could resemble some of the Antonio Gaudi's works, Hundertwasser's buildings or the Dancing House in Prague) and Fontanna Jasia Rybaka (the Fountain of Johnny the Fisherman).
When you will be in Górny Sopot district, spare some time to see the Forest Opera, where the annual Sopot Festival takes place.
